Tack collects no data. Everything you log stays on your iPhone, in the app's local database (SwiftData). Nothing is sent to a server, the cloud, or any third party.
What we know about you
Nothing. The app has no backend.
What lives on your device
- Your logged expenses (date, amount, tag, mode).
- Your settings (monthly budget, custom tags, biometric lock).
This data lives only in the iPhone's local storage — you are the only one with access.
Permissions
The app requests one optional permission:
- Face ID / Touch ID — only if you enable the biometric lock in settings. Authentication happens inside Apple's Secure Enclave; we never see what the sensor reads.
Third parties
No analytics SDKs, no tracking, no ads, no social login, no bank integrations. Tack is offline-first by design — Brandbook §05: silence > alarms.
Children
Tack is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data of any age — because it collects no data.
Backups
App data is included in your iCloud Backup if you have it enabled on your iPhone. That backup is end-to-end encrypted by Apple — we still don't have access.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes (for example, if we add cloud sync someday), we'll update this page with a new date and — if the change affects data — surface it in the app before it takes effect.
